Thanks to Paratreker 4™, rough terrain, hills and mountains are no longer obstacles to disabled people who want to experience and enjoy the outdoors and adventure.
Paratreker 4™ all-terrain wheelchairs open up a whole new range of outdoor activities for disabled people to access and enjoy. They could include unlimited access to all areas of national and holiday parks (i.e. Centre Parcs), National Trust sites, Scottish National Heritage reserves, canals and zoos, They even enable young disabled people to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions with their school or youth group.
Manufactured and assembled by GM4X in the UK, The Paratreker 4™ is a non-motorised all-terrain wheelchair and is designed to make hills, mountains and wild countryside accessible, even and especially when it's rough terrain. One person can push it in most conditions. However, on hills and mountains, or it the ground is very rough, and depending on the weight of the user, it can take up to four people to push and pull the chair. This is a great way to bring together friends and family to achieve a collective goal ... and most of all to have fun!
Built to ISO 9001 - 2015 standards, the Paratreker 4™ features four quality mountain bike wheels and tyres, with an optional upgrade to Plus Size wheels and tyres at the rear. These tyre combinations provide excellent grip across all types of terrain and the disc brakes which are controlled by the person pushing. The frame is made of mild and stainless fabricated steel and has been expertly designed to pivot on the front axle to maximise stability when manoeuvring across obstacles. The chair also uses a push/pull cable steering mechanism which is controlled independently by the user. If the user has limited hand and/or arm movement on one side, the steering mechanism can be controlled with just one of the handles.
The Paratreker 4™ can be easily disassembled for transit purposes. The frame of the chair is split by means of a quick release mechanism which is simple and easy. The robust mild and stainless steel fabricated frame comes in two parts and joins together with a unique but simple clamping mechanism. Full instructions are provided, and training and demonstrations can be arranged.
